my man, it just struck me, out of nowhere. when you are not jake, are you vinay N. shenoy? i know it's an absurd thing to ask, but said chap was my roommate. he scooted off to india and was doing some management / software kind of thing when last heard of. i think he (you?) used to write these haiku type short poems too.

i meant to add: chap's nickname was jack / jake too. hence the doubt.
